Atlantic Sea Kayakers is an informal organization of sea kayaking enthusiasts with paddlers located in NJ, NY, PA, DE & MD primarily. Expertise ranges from those totally new to the sport to those with significant knowledge and skills.
We label ourselves as a "group" not a "club" because we do not have "officers" or "meetings", "rules" or "regulations." We paddle lakes, creeks, rivers, bays, ocean and surf. We paddle in the daytime and at night, year round, on daytrips and kayak camping trips with overnighters, long weekends and weeklong expeditions. Our trips are generally organized by a member who serves as a contact person to make the arrangements and coordinate the group, but there is no formal leader, no guide, and no backup or support.
Any member of the group can add an event to the Message Board — no certification, credentials, or skills are required. Before going on any trip, you must determine for yourself whether the trip plan is safe for you.
